RED HAT SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT CONSULTANT- SECRET CLEARANCE WITH SECURITY CLEARANCE

Red Hat Subject Matter Expert Consultant needed for an opportunity with SOC's client to work in Huntsville, Alabama. Active Secret Clearance is required! Responsibilities Our client is looking for an experienced Advisory Consultant with a specialized skill set in Red Hat technologies. This position requires an expert who can handle the creation of various Red Hat template images, and the management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments across the enterprise. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in migration, virtualization of workloads, performance tuning, and ensuring the highest standards of security and efficiency. * Create Red Hat template images for servers, thick desktops, and VDI environments. * Configure and manage the Linux operating system, ensuring proper installation and maintenance of all systems. * Manage RHEL licensing, package repositories, and provision new virtual machines. * Assist with the migration and virtualization of workloads. * Perform performance tuning to ensure optimal system operations. * Configure smart card/token authentication for desktop and VDI images. * Ensure that DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) are applied and all security vulnerabilities are mitigated with patches or compensating controls. * Leverage the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform for configuration and baseline management across all Linux systems. * Create bash shell scripts to aid in system stability and deployment repeatability. * Provide support for hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process. * Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems. * Provide problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. * Provide detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets to management and internal customers. * Optimize system operations and resource utilization. * Perform system capacity analysis and planning. Qualifications * Active Secret Clearance * Proven experience building YUM repositories and creating Red Hat template images. * Experience in managing RHEL environments, including licensing and provisioning of virtual machines. * Familiarity with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and strong scripting skills in bash. * Deep understanding of security practices, including DISA STIGs and vulnerability management. * Strong background in virtualization, migration, and performance tuning of Red Hat environments. * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex IT systems. * Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). * 5-10 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on Red Hat technologies. * Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer) are highly desirable. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly rate range for this role is $60.00 to $80.00.
