Position Overview The CSAR T&E Support Systems Engineer will provide support and subject matter expertise to the 88th Test and Evaluation Squadron (88 TES), the 418 TES, and Combat Search and Rescue Combined Test Force (CSAR CTF) in the planning, coordination, scheduling, analysis, execution, and reporting of Air Combat Command (ACC) operational test and evaluation programs and for ACC approved developmental test and evaluation programs. Essential Job Function * Assist in the development and documentation of combat search and rescue operational tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for both CSAR CTF Divisions (HH-60, and Guardian Angel (GA) weapons systems), and the 418 TES (HC-130 and EC-130H/EA-37B) to include survivor identification, recovery operations, force protection, ground-/airborne-/space-based CSAR support, and CSAR Task Force command and control.
* Provide subject matter expertise while assisting in the implementation and operation of combat search and rescue equipment and systems.
* Draft and coordinate combat rescue related mission area documents (test support plans, briefing slides, lessons learned) for each CSAR CTF Division regarding policy, planning, briefing, and information.
* Assist Test Project Managers in planning, executing, and reporting CSAR operational testing, to include research, test plan preparation, test card preparation, event reports, and test reports for both CSAR CTF Divisions and 418 TES.
* Assist with the development of combat models and simulations for test projects where its use presents cost and schedule savings by reducing the number of operational test events, clarifying test options, or defining weapons and tactics options prior to execution.
* Perform safety observer duties for simulated survivors in field conditions during test and training operations at home station and at TDY locations for both CSAR CTF Divisions and the 418 TES.
* Perform field/ground party support and Drop Zone and Landing Zone Operations for GA parachute, land, and water operations at home station and at TDY drop zone/airfields.
* Assist with Higher Headquarters (HHQ) coordination efforts for testing including attendance at integrated product team planning meetings, conferences, and system demonstrations.
* Provide CSAR subject matter expertise to the ongoing EC-130H/EZ-37B, and HC-130 and combat rescue helicopter planning, testing, and sustainment efforts. Minimum Qualifications * Must have at least five (5) years (three (3) years recency) experience of demonstrated work and technical experience in: - A combination of military operations, systems acquisition, requirements, and operational Support Activities. - Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation activities on CSAR equipment, tactics, techniques, and procedures. - Leading, planning, and executing complex AF Personnel Recovery Developmental and Operational test programs as Test Manager/Director or Lead Analyst. - C4ISR processes as they relate to personnel recovery operations. * Must have demonstrated (three (3) years recency) experience with Air Force, Air Combat Command, Air Force Material Command T&E and JCIDS Instructions as well as Wing, Group, and Squadron supplements.
* Must have the ability to create/prepare/conduct/deliver/attend complex oral and written decision briefs, reports, position papers, draft messages and other correspondence to HHQ staff.
* Must have excellent proficiency and experience (three (3) years recency) using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications and shall have excellent analytical, speaking, and writing skills.
* Must be physically able to walk/hike 800 meters, climb a standard utility ladder, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds of basic test equipment/survival gear.
* Must have a Top Secret facility clearance. Desired Qualifications * At least five (5) years (three (3) years recency) of demonstrated DT/OT experience with AF Personnel Recovery/CSAR Systems, Subsystems, Doctrine, and fielded TTPs.
* At least seven (7) years rated operational Air Force CSAR or Special Operations helicopter and/or fixed-wing aircraft employment experience. Weapons Officer qualification/experience is highly desired.
* At least seven (7) years of Air Force CSAR or Special Operations Pararescue, Combat Controller, or Special Tactics employment experience including paradrop operations, tactical weapons employment, tactical dive operations, and overland tactics.
* Five (5) years demonstrated work and technical experience (three (3) years recency) employing, operating, and testing technologies associated with tactical data links, tactical radios, and survival/rescue equipment used by Air Force Personnel Recovery forces, as well as knowledge (three (3) years recency) of published information exchange TTPs and training products available for employing this equipment.
