Southern Shade Tree Co is a full-service landscaping and tree service provider with over 50 years of experience exceeding client's expectations in the Carolinas. We are seeking a shop mechanic for our fleet and equipment.
The successful candidate will possess:
Strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly - (Spanish speaking not necessary but preferred)
Experience in mechanical work - Automotive/diesel, trailers and construction equipment
Strong integrity and eye for safety
Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Deadline and detail-oriented
Have your own tools
Job duties will include but are not limited to:
Performs road tests on vehicles to assist in diagnosis and repair verification
DOT medical card required and acceptable MVR to company insurance standards
Test operates machinery to assist in diagnosis and repair verification
Skid steers, Mini excavators, Dingos etc.
Conduct routine maintenance work on all company owned assets
Maintain service records and communicates progress with management
Maintain shop cleanliness and follows all safety policies
Transporting of equipment and vehicles between various company locations
Ability to tow a trailer safely and confidently
Weld and fabricate metal components as needed
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Regularly works near moving machinery/tools which requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, must be able to move quickly and have excellent stamina.
Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects (over 50 lbs.), use legs, hips, shoulders, abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
