Position Type: Full-Time Work Location: This is a remote position (see on-site requirements below). **On-Site Requirements: On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received. Essential Functions: * This position supports a team of software developers that are architecting and implementing solutions following Agile principles. Become part of a multi-disciplinary team that is supporting Naval Aviation Logistic IT infrastructure. Work across a portfolio of web enabled applications (ASP.net, Cold Fusion, and Java) and databases (Oracle and Teradata) that support Naval Aviation readiness. * Researches, tracks, follows up on, and resolves impediments for the scrum team(s). * Communicates with the scrum team, other scrum masters, customers, and all levels of management. * Facilitates and/or supports sprint ceremonies, such as daily scrum, retrospectives, sprint planning, and sprint backlog grooming. * Gathers and presents scrum team metrics and works with the team to implement improvements that are reflected in the teams' sprint velocity. * Mentors the scrum team on agile practices and on becoming more agile with each sprint. * Manages Scrum boards in Jira. * Supports the team in gathering customer requirements and user story development, and following Agile methodologies. * Supports the team in preparing for weekly and end of sprint Demos. * Other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications and Experience: Required: * At least 3 years of solid experience as a Scrum Master or position of equivalent responsibility. * Two years of technical experience. * Agile Methodology experience. * Experience facilitating government customers and/or project team meetings. * Experience with conducting Agile ceremonies: daily scrums, sprint retrospectives, sprint accomplishment meetings. * Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira, SharePoint, Gitlab, and Office365. Desired: * Scrum Master Certification. * Project Management experience. * Understanding of full life cycle for software development including requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation. * Knowledge of CM Tools (TFS or GitLab); Help Desk Software (HEAT); Code Reviews; Databases and ERDs (Oracle, Sybase, Teradata, SQL Server); Software Development Documentation. * Familiarity with programming languages & technologies including ColdFusion; QlikView or QlikSense; ASP.NET; JAVA; ETL/Data Warehousing (Informatica); Shell Scripting; HTML; COGNOS and other Warehousing and Reporting Tools. Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc. Education: BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics is desired.
