The work, and what you'll do: In essence, this position requires a hardware design engineer with a strong foundation in RF circuit design and a solid understanding of microcontroller programming. The ideal candidate will have experience developing PCBs for various applications, testing their performance, and reverse engineering existing hardware to gain insights into their functionality. The engineer will need to be proficient in using design tools, programming languages, and testing equipment to ensure the successful development and implementation of RF hardware. What you'll need: - BS and 3-6 years of hardware design engineering experience. - Proven ability to develop RF PCBs and demonstrate capabilities. - Expertise in researching parts for wideband (DC-6GHz) PCBs and proficiency in creating schematics and layouts for PCBs. - Experience with PCB simulation using Microwave Office. - Skill in programming microcontrollers on PCBs using Python and C. - Proficiency in soldering components onto PCBs. - Knowledge of specialized RF applications, such as implementing a comb generator using various diodes. - Experience testing multiple revisions of PCBs and RF capabilities using Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and Network Analyzers. - Reverse engineering capabilities, including analyzing exemplars to identify microcontrollers, extracting firmware via JTAG and Dataman, and assisting in firmware reverse engineering processes.
