    Job Requirements
  • Must have 2 years of MedSurg experience
  • Must have EPIC experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret tele
  • Must be willing to take students, may precept new travelers
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours 7-730. Scheduler will schedule travelers- no block scheduling
  • Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts in a 6-week period- travelers are utilized to fill in gaps
  • Holiday Requirement: yes- if there is a need
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit: MedSurg - 5th Floor
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total joints, ortho-hip fx, spine surgeries-lumbar and cervical; Urology procedures, CBI; General surgeries- choles, bowel resections, complicated mastectomies; GYN overflow-total hysters; Medical overflow-COPD, some behavioral health, sepsis, infections
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills detailed in job requirements
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 3 days of general orientation including EPIC training and meeting with educator, will also have online modules to complete prior to start of assignment. 2 shifts on unit with a preceptor
    Additional Details
  • RN to patient ratios: 1:5 occasional 1:6-very rarely happens
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips: No
  • Is there Call or a Standby requirement: n/a
  • Floating Requirements: Will float between MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, and a 9 bed overflow unit. Can also go to any like units in the system
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color as long as clean and professional
