Network Administrator We are hiring a full time Network Administrator to join our team at Camp Smith, Hawaii. In this role you will support U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) by providing information technology service management. We are providing USSOCOM services for developing, documenting, structuring, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring delivery of IT service management processes, procedures, and performance, including continuous improvement of all IT service areas. This includes support in coordinating, integrating, and synchronizing the services from IT service area providers. This position requires a fundamental technical background in the IT networking industry. The candidate must be able to configure, design, implement and troubleshoot large complex DOD enterprise networks. Candidates will be working as part of a team to configure, design, document, perform fiber cable checks troubleshoot and repair Wide Area and Local Area Networks. Candidate will work with the team to design, implement and troubleshoot the Wide Area Network and Local Area Network efforts supporting customers at multiple locations. The candidate should be well versed with the operations, implementation and functionality of security devices, switches, and routers of different vendors. Hands-on experience in configuring network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, web proxies, IPS, IDS, etc. (Brocade, Juniper, and CISCO) is a must. The Candidate will also be required to have a fundamental understanding of MPLS and MPLS related protocols along with advanced knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols. This position will be working with a team of engineers, cybersecurity experts and operational planners to maintain the enterprise network. Typical duties include:
• Administers the operation of all LAN/WAN-related network services according to policies and procedures. • Coordinates and implements network software and hardware upgrades.
• Troubleshoots and resolves LAN/WAN performance, connectivity, and related network problems. • Administers LAN/WAN security, antivirus, and spam control measures. • Uses a variety of tools to monitor and troubleshoot the network.
• Creates monitoring reports and logs and ensures the functionality of links. • Documents and maintains network topologies. • Resolves ticket requests, works to resolve incidents, and escalate to engineering team when required.
• Represents USSOCOM and interfaces with software and hardware vendors for support issues. • Enforce network security policies and procedures. Required Skills:
• TS Clearance
• Hands-on working experience with Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load balancer etc.
• Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP and related routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF/ISIS etc.
• Fundamental knowledge of MPLS protocols and services (L3VPN and L2VPN, 6PE/6VPE, etc.)
• Knowledge of different circuit types and carrier technologies (Ethernet – 100G, 40G, 10G, E1/T1, OCx, ATM, SONET, DWDM etc.)
• Working knowledge of Visio & MS PowerPoint to update and maintain network design and cabling documentation.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, documents or government regulations. Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years relevant network engineering experience
• Minimum DoD 8570 IAT Level II Compliance: Security+ with CE; CCNP security preferred
• Must possess and maintain TS/SCI clearance. Desired Qualifications: • Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or specialized training and 4-8 years-experience; or equivalent academic experience
• Experience interpreting detailed installation instructions and supporting documentation to facilitate network equipment implementation.
• Proven capability to interpret and evaluate engineering plans, site installation technical design packages and supporting documentation to facilitate network equipment implementation.
• Working knowledge of network devices such as routers and switches; Understanding of the necessary requirements to install and support network infrastructure equipment.
• Expertise in confirming compliance in accordance with commercial best practices/standards and customer provided standards.
• Capacity to track, guide, and mentor multiple teams simultaneously
• Strict attention to detail; Adherence to rigid guidelines and processes; Ability to validate, update and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent ability for clear and concise oral and written communication; capability to interface at multiple levels and successfully present technical information.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint use; proficient with Microsoft Visio
• Ability to work in a virtual team environment as well as independently.
