SteelGate is looking for a talented Senior IT Systems Administrator / Knowledge Manager to join our team. The right person will have a strong background in configuring and supporting enterprise-class network hardware in a highly redundant environment to ensure uptime requirements are met. They must be capable of independently responding to errors and hardware exceptions on a wide array of network and host systems. The candidate must prioritize information security from the initiation of IT system design and maintain consideration throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This person will monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. The System Administrator will perform system security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts, hardening of the system, setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. This position will interact with users and evaluate vendor products. The System Administrator will make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. This position will develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources and performs tier one and two network support in accordance with the contract. The candidate will have a strong background in Knowledge management practices providing customers with quick logical access to information to support mission requirements. Duties Include But Are Not Limited To: Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software and hardware Performing system backups and recovery Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for conducting server host and virtual machine builds on prem and cloud environments. Providing Systems Administrator support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems. Maintaining file structures, SharePoint, and Knowledge Management systems. Troubleshooting and documenting systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance. VTC Systems Management and Troubleshooting. Required Qualifications: BS/BS with 18+ years experience, MS/MA with 10+ years experience. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Minimum of a DoD Top Secret clearance is required. Security+ Certification DOD IAT II or equivalent Directorate IT Support (IMO Provisioning and Managing Active Directory Accounts SIPR/NIPR Manage Entitlements and ACTCS accounts System Support and maintenance (Imaging, Touch Labor). VTC Systems Management and troubleshooting. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and MS Teams with ability to edit and design. Experience organizing data, establishing file structures, and ensuring information is captured and stored in locations accessible to authorized users. Experience conducting assessments to baseline KM processes, taxonomy structures and architecture, technology, tools, and capabilities. Experience with cloud-based computing systems.
