Physics-Based Modeling and Data Analytics MS/PhD Summer Internship The Systems Autonomy, Analysis, and Modeling (SAAM) Group at STR is seeking a Graduate Intern to develop sensing, technology, and system modeling environments for high-impact defense applications. The intern will work with leading researchers to define the modeling requirements, design, and implement the environment, and validate the predictive or explanatory capabilities. Job Description: * You will work as part of a project team with focused mentorship from experienced staff. * You will adapt, extend, and optimize innovative modeling and simulation algorithms for solving challenging flight simulations. * You will collaborate with STR research engineers as well as academic researchers, who are often part of our team, to develop practical and powerful modeling and simulation solutions. * You will have the opportunity to evaluate and optimize simulation performance on relevant and practical data sets. Requirements: * We are looking for students majoring in physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or related areas. * Experience with physics-based modeling and/or data analytics is preferred. More general desired skills include Object oriented programming skills in C++, Qt, or MATLAB, source code management (git), and software development tools including continuous build, unit testing frameworks, and static code analysis.
