What You'll Be Doing:
- Monitor machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Assembles and installs electronic control systems for production machinery and associated automated equipment’s gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance per schedule.
- Communicate with operators pre- and post-repair.
- Interact with operators to troubleshoot, repair and test equipment.
- Communicate with Team Leader and/or Maintenance Supervisor on major repair needs discovered.
- Complete, sign and submit work orders.
- Complete order list of equipment and supplies to be ordered.
- Review new equipment standard issues.
- Follow lock-out/tag out procedures.
- Housekeeping around the plant as necessary.
- Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspond with co-workers and suppliers/vendors.
- Ability to read and interpret Electrical Pneumatic and Piping Schematics.
- Skilled in use of standard mechanical hand tools.
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Computer skills: Basic computer skills are needed
- Certifications/Licenses: Forklift license is a plus, but not required
- Language skills: Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, and leadership.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to use basic gages and measuring devices.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, and diagram form.
- The ability to be reliable, work overtime as needed, and be committed to working at our Chittenango, NY facility.
