What You'll Be Doing:
  • Monitor machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assembles and installs electronic control systems for production machinery and associated automated equipment’s gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per schedule.
  • Communicate with operators pre- and post-repair.
  • Interact with operators to troubleshoot, repair and test equipment.
  • Communicate with Team Leader and/or Maintenance Supervisor on major repair needs discovered.
  • Complete, sign and submit work orders.
  • Complete order list of equipment and supplies to be ordered.
  • Review new equipment standard issues.
  • Follow lock-out/tag out procedures.
  • Housekeeping around the plant as necessary.
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspond with co-workers and suppliers/vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret Electrical Pneumatic and Piping Schematics. 
  • Skilled in use of standard mechanical hand tools.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Computer skills: Basic computer skills are needed
  • Certifications/Licenses: Forklift license is a plus, but not required
  • Language skills: Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, and leadership. 
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to use basic gages and measuring devices. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, and diagram form.
  • The ability to be reliable, work overtime as needed, and be committed to working at our Chittenango, NY facility.
