Description Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Work Location: Snyder, TX Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. SA-TECH supports munitions delivery training for Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps air and ground crews through USAF Air Combat Command's Primary Training Ranges (PTRs). We deliver OM&S services to PTR bombing and gunnery (B&G) ranges and electronic warfare (EW) ranges, supporting remote threat emitters, mission data processing, range communications, weapons impact and electronic combat scoring. We are currently hiring a General Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding and electrical work at our facilities supporting the Electronic Scoring Site in Snyder, TX. The basic duties include (but are not limited to): * Operate farm tractors, riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, wood chippers and other similar equipment if required. * Work involves mowing grass, and conducting general weed control, ether mechanically or by use of herbicide if licensed, at main site and remote locations. * General cleaning and maintenance. * Moving dirt or clearing brush as needed. * Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
* Operate heavy equipment and machinery in a safe and effective manner.
* Operate tools and use supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
* Maintain all tools and equipment assigned in good repair. * Store tools and supplies in a safe manner with a neat appearance.
* Perform preventive maintenance inspections daily and documents all maintenance.
* Assist in the operation and repair of road gates and night lighting systems. * Perform house and grounds keeping as well as other duties as directed.
* Perform maintenance and construction to include but not limited to, mowing, plowing, filling, * Supplement or assist other labor categories IAW CBA. * Perform range maintenance.
* Perform grounds maintenance, housekeeping, window washing and janitorial duty.
* Perform all additional duties as instructed by management (IAW CBA). Work Conditions: * Performs work indoors and outdoors.
* Range maintenance, in particular, requires long periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting in an outdoor environment. * Must be able to climb ladders, work in elevated areas and confined spaces and have the capability to work on high voltage and radio frequency circuits.
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 50 - 100 lbs. with assistance.
* Job demands will require physical dexterity and flexibility.
* Must be physically able to sit, stand, kneel and climb.
* Is subject to high noise levels and vibration.
* Required to work under stress.
* Overtime will be required at times to support operations.
Requirements Education/Experience/Skills: * High school diploma or equivalent (required).
* Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work with little to no supervision. * Basic knowledge of applicable building and safety code requirements, methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment (required).
* Effective oral and written communication skills (required).
* Must be able to read, understand and follow operator manuals (required).
* Present professional appearance and demeanor (required).
* Understand and adhere to policies and procedures (required).
* Experience in firefighting, construction, or vehicle maintenance ( useful but not required ).
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure (required).
* Certificates in FEMA I-100, S-190, S-130 ( can be obtained on-site, if needed ).
* Must be able to provide own transportation to and from work. * Texas Pesticide Applicators License preferred.
* All candidates will be required to pass a consumer report and/or consumer investigation to include SSN, Driver Record and Criminal Background Investigation.
* Current Class B Texas Driver's License is required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
* U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
