Job Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 2 years in any inpatient acute care setting or 1 year in orthopedics.
• Traveler Experience: Unit will accept first-time travelers with Epic experience.
• Skills: IV Start and Telemetry.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIH.
• Preferred Skills/Certifications: ACLS, Charge Nurse Experience, Level I Trauma Experience.

• Patient Ratios: Expect 5-6:1 ratio, can flex up to 7:1 in extreme cases.
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025, to get the unit through the holidays.
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. No overtime until after 48 hours.
• Float Requirement: Required; travelers may need to float to other med-surg units based on census.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required. If a weekend call-off occurs, time must be made up on a weekend.

• Average Daily Census: 37 patients.
• Patient Population: Orthopedic, Neuro spine, Med-surg, Post-surgical.
• Covid Patients: No longer cohorted; managed across all units unless in ICU.

• Fast-paced unit with a focus on ortho and spine patients requiring effective pain management.

• Block scheduling available with options for F/S/S or S/S/M schedules.
