Education & Experience:
Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years’ experience. OR A MS with 8+ years’ experience. OR A BS with 10+ years’ experience or more. Top Skills & Years of Experience: - Process engineering management and/or operations management experience with nuclear materials involving glovebox operations. Requires a thorough understanding of plutonium chemistry and the radiological, nuclear safety and industrial safety issues of plutonium operations. - Experience with development, approval, and implementation of Documented Safety Analysis (DSA), Technical Safety Requirements (TSR), and Nuclear Criticality Safety Evaluations (NCSE). Experience to include interfacing with the customer and the Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board (DNFSB) to resolve issues. - Demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline teams to develop effective solutions to challenges which involve unique or controversial processing problems. - Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. DUTIES
• Define scope of technical programs and develop effective, quality solutions to challenges which involve unique or controversial problems.
