Job Description Network Administrator Overview The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking a Network Administrator to join our Philadelphia Engineering Office. The GBS Group designs and delivers high technology services and solutions to most advanced naval and maritime ships, as well as to special purpose platforms and assets. Our office is located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, which is a dynamic urban development, offering the Philadelphia region a unique and centrally-located waterfront business campus committed to smart energy innovation and sustainability. The Navy Yard has over 20 acres of parks, one mile of waterfront trail and is located less than one-half mile from the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, as well as the retail/entertainment center Xfinity Live!. Responsibilities include but are not limited to * Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, computer systems, network servers, and virtual environment * Install and upgrade hardware components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes * Responsible for configuring systems, system troubleshooting, and software installation. * Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure * Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures * Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance * Expert level knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V * Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols * Experience with scripting and automation tools including Powershell * A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans * Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols * Experience with network hardening and cyber security operations * Provide desktop support to a number of Windows 10 workstations. * Ensure IT systems meet security requirements with patch installations and configuration changes. * Perform system administration functions on systems that operate on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Qualifications Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Network Systems Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems. * Experience with VMWare Software * VMware Horizon and vSphere * Virtual Cloud network design and sustainment * Brocade technology * Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. * Experience with Windows 10 workstations. * Experience with patch installations and configuration changes. * Experience with system troubleshooting and software installation. * Must be able to obtain/maintain a secret security clearance. (U. S.
