Overview OVERVIEW AirForce CyberWorx is an innovation lab focused on optimizing products, processes, and policies using Human-Centered Design best practices focused on cyber capability-melding academic and industry expertise to solve operational problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking an experienced Lead Senior Human-Centered Designer to join our team. This role involves leading and facilitating human-centered design efforts, guiding design sessions, and coordinating tasks within a human-centered design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human-centered design, user experience research, and design thinking, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and drive design projects to completion. Human-Centered Design Leadership: * Lead participatory design and concept evaluation sessions with stakeholders and end users.
* Facilitate group discussions and workshops to discover problems and generate solutions using human-centered design (HCD) techniques.
* Implement HCD tools including personas, journey mapping, use cases, task analysis, user flows, analogies, futures thinking, and usability testing in the design of software, systems, mobile apps, smart tech, and similar products.
Communication and Documentation: * Clearly explain design decisions to a wide range of stakeholders in a logical and understandable manner.
* Author the first draft of project reports, concept briefs, and other deliverables, working with the facilitation team and engagement lead to refine and finalize documents.
Team Coordination and Management: * Serve as the internal Task Order coordinator for the contractor team, responding to direction from the Chief of Design Division and AF CyberWorx CORs/TPOCs.
* Ensure effective communication and coordination within the human-centered design team. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Behavioral Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Professional Experience: At least 15 years of relevant experience in human-centered design. Core Expertise: Proven experience in human-centered design and/or design thinking, with strong insights into core business processes, strategy, and solutions. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design of IT products and user interfaces, knowledge of DEVOPS mindset and agile methodologies, and experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Sketch, FramerJS, Miro). Leadership and Facilitation: Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams, excellent communication, group leadership, and facilitation skills.
