Overview The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for carrying out all the duties and responsibilities of a plumbing mechanic at the journeyman level with a commitment to providing high-quality service. Services include, but are not limited to maintenance and repair of all types of high temperature water and high-pressure piping systems (e.g., hydraulic, nitrogen, oxygen, steam heating, steam generating systems, etc.), utility systems, supply systems, disposal systems, plumbing fixtures, plumbing fittings, and equipment such as sewage, water, gas, oil lines, compressed air, vacuum, and acid systems, water closets, water heaters, hydrants, back flow preventers, valves, pumps, and pipes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing systems for water, drainage systems, gas, steam, air, and other liquids.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to local codes and standards.
• Possess excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.
• Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Other work-related duties as assigned, provided the employee possesses the proper licensing for that duty, if required. QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: • Must have a minimum of four (4) years' experience working in the Commercial Facilities/ Operation and Maintenance Arena.
• A Journeyman Plumber License is required.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred.
• Maximo CMMS Experience a plus, but not required.
• Microsoft Computer skills (Office, Word, Outlook etc.) a plus but not required. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Thorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems and equipment in the building.

Performance of essential and ancillary functions requires maintenance of physical conditioning adequate for sitting, walking or standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, stretching, bending for prolonged periods of time; at time lift and carry up to as much as 60 pounds, near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech with background noise. • In performing the required work, it is required to have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, do a lot of walking, use every kind of hand tool, work in hazardous positions, carry heavy tools.
