Overview ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Sorts and delivers approximately 100-200 pieces of incoming mail by department and/or employee to ensure timely distribution.
* Sorts approximately 25-100 pieces of outgoing mail each day.
* Performs twice daily mail run to 51 mail stops in NASA HQ. Sorts and delivers interdepartmental mail including notices and memoranda.
* Picks up departmental mail.
* Operates mail machines including the postage meter, photocopying machine, and mail folding and inserting machine.
* Processes and weighs outgoing mail.
* Maintains records of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information.
* Replenishes postage on the postage meter as needed.
* Stocks supplies needed for the mail center.
* Ensures packages and letters are available once per day pick up from FedEx and UPS.
* Utilizes MS Word to create, update, merge, delete, and sort mailing lists in sizes ranging from 50 to 200,000 addresses.
* Picks up sealed Controller Unclassified Information burn bags (Supplied by NASA) that contain Privacy Act, proprietary, and sensitive materials from designated pickup and delivery point and secures in CUI locked bins in the NASA Mail Center.
* Performs other related duties as assigned. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Must have completed training at a USPS Training Workshop.
* Minimum Education: High School Diploma.
* Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Mail Clerk.
