The Terraces at Los Altos, a HumanGood life plan community located in Los Altos, CA, is hiring a full-time Sales Counselor.
The Sales Counselor disseminates information to the public regarding the retirement community; finding and following up on leads; interviewing prospective residents; and selling vacant apartments.
Wage range: $28.65 to $38.00/hour, plus commission.
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Searching qualified leads from a variety of sources; initiating and maintaining contact with prospective residents, referral sources and others.
- Receiving calls and inquiries from prospective residents, their families and their advisors; providing relevant information and showing apartments and the community to prospective residents, their families and guests; closing sales.
- Reviewing levels of care needed by prospective residents with the prospect retirement community department leadership.
- Preparing and reviewing occupancy and sales reports; supporting marketing events as required.
- Contributing to the planning, research and writing of the community’s marketing plans.
- May supervise or act as move-in coordinator, facilitating the move-in process for new residents and writing work orders for apartments as necessary.
- Attending in-service training and meetings as required.
- Performing other related/essential duties as may be required by the Director of Marketing and Sales or the corporate office.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- 3 years of related experience
- High school diploma and some vocational or college course work in business, marketing or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, social sciences, business or a related field may be substituted for two of the years of experience.
- Prospect evaluation methods; effective sales closing methods.
- Principles of organization and functions of a retirement community.
- Contracts for continuing care communities.
- Lead tracking and prospect communications.
- Computer software skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and community lead data base program.
- Maintaining current knowledge/required certifications for quality care and services mandated by federal and state law, and other regulating agencies.
