What Will You Do? 

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: 

  • Perform manual penetration tests on embedded devices, including network, hardware, and software vulnerabilities.

  • Document testing procedures, findings, and results in a structured and comprehensive manner.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to identify test equipment and resources required to automate penetration testing.

  • Develop and write automation scripts/software for penetration tests, improving efficiency and repeatability.

  • Provide recommendations based on test results to improve product security.

  • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and penetration testing techniques relevant to embedded systems.

What Do You Need? 

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Completed courses in cybersecurity, embedded systems, penetration testing, networking, and computer programming.

  • Programming/Scripting languages: Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and familiarity with shell scripting (e.g., Bash) for automation tasks.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity testing tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, or similar.

  • Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, CAN, etc.) and wireless communication (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).

  • Experience with embedded systems or IoT devices, either through coursework or projects, is preferred.

  • Hardware experience: Basic knowledge of working with microcontrollers, debugging interfaces (e.g., JTAG, UART), and testing hardware security.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on documenting procedures and results.

  • Experience with automation tools or writing scripts to automate testing is a plus.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable in a team environment.

  • Good problem-analysis and resolution skills.

  • Positive and energetic attitude.

  • High degree of personal and professional integrity.
