Unit Description: The Quality Improvement Consultant reports to the Director of Quality Management and is responsible for working with leadership to develop, implement and monitor clinical and operational systems improvement projects that support the organizations key strategic priorities in order to succeed as a High Reliability Organization. The Quality Improvement Consultant provides expertise in systems analysis and performance optimization, risk reduction and accreditation compliance. The Quality Improvement Consultant utilizes quality management tools and methodology to analyze workflow processes, plan and implement projects, and make recommendations for clinical operational systems improvements. The Quality Improvement consultant works as a change agent to achieve organizationally identified outcomes and enhance system performance through the use of quality management skills.

  • State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • BSN required
  • MSN preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare environment and experience with interpretation and evaluation of accreditation standards is preferred

  • Five years or more of increasing responsibility in systems, quality, or health care administration

  • Demonstrated management ability-Strong communication/presentation skills

  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and management

  • Previous experience with JC/regulatory agency preparation, coordination, education and surveys for hospitals, physician office practices, home health care and free-standing ambulatory surgery settings

  • Previous experience with electronic document management systems (desirable)
