TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a mission-critical utility organization supporting large-scale operational infrastructure and real-time systems. This environment demands high availability, strong security practices, and disciplined infrastructure management across complex operational technology (OT) systems.

Summary

The Systems Engineer will support and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments that enable operational reliability for utility and real-time monitoring systems. This role focuses on server administration, virtualization, system performance, and infrastructure resiliency within a highly regulated, high-uptime environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support physical and virtual server environments across enterprise infrastructure

  • Administer VMware/virtualization platforms and related infrastructure services

  • Perform Windows and Linux system administration and support

  • Manage storage systems, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes

  • Execute patch management and infrastructure hardening in alignment with security standards

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and operational reliability

  • Support cybersecurity and compliance initiatives across infrastructure systems

  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure incidents

  • Collaborate with networking, security, and operations teams on infrastructure initiatives

  • Support OT/SCADA-related systems and operational technology environments

  • Contribute to infrastructure improvement projects and standardization efforts

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles

  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration

  • Linux administration experience required or strongly preferred

  • Hands-on experience with VMware or similar virtualization platforms

  • Experience with storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologies

  • Understanding of patch management and system hardening practices

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization

  • Experience working in high-availability or mission-critical environments

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in regulated or operationally sensitive environments (utilities, energy, manufacturing, or similar)

  • Exposure to OT/SCADA/ICS environments is highly preferred
