Overview
An industrial automation and manufacturing solutions company is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Designer to support the design and execution of custom automation systems. This role focuses on developing robust mechanical designs for complex manufacturing environments while collaborating closely with clients, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on design expertise, leadership capability, and a practical understanding of fabrication and assembly.

This role focuses on developing robust mechanical designs for complex manufacturing environments while collaborating closely with clients, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on design expertise, leadership capability, and a practical understanding of fabrication and assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design for automated manufacturing systems
- Create and manage 3D models and large assemblies in SolidWorks
- Interface with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver designs
- Support onsite assembly, troubleshooting, and commissioning
- Review designs and drawings for functionality, manufacturability, and proper tolerancing
Required Experience
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience
- Advanced SolidWorks 3D modeling and detailing skills
- Strong understanding of GD&T, materials, and fabrication processes
- Experience integrating automation components (robots, pneumatics, servos, conveyors)
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior designers
Qualifications & Benefits
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Salary: $80,000–$120,000 + bonus
