Trio Supply Company, a federation partner of Office Depot Corporation is looking for a Junior Buyer to join our purchasing team in our Fridley, MN corporate offices. We are seeking a driven and detail oriented Junior Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing products for distribution to our customers. The Junior Buyer evaluates inventory, negotiates prices and terms for purchased products. You will build purchase orders for supplies to match sales demand for the best price, while still meeting vendor minimums. The Junior Buyer tracks purchases, monitors, vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information. This position will work with staff across department to forecast the needs of the business and make purchasing decisions based on demand. They will work with suppliers and vendors to keep proper inventory and ensure customer satisfaction.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • By utilizing an internal demand system develop purchase orders to match sales demand, inventory levels, and seasonality fluctuations.
  • Work with Vendors to ensure the best price, accurate lead times, and ensure inventory is in stock.
  • Communicate with upper management, sales, fellow buyers on a regular basis ensuring to follow up with short stock, price changes, demand adjustments, or other inventory issues.
  • Performs root cause / corrective actions for stock outs, missed deliveries and non-conformances to proactively drive permanent solutions.
  • Work to be a sales advocate, assisting where needed and working in a cohesive team.
  • Evaluate Inventory and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability for optimum inventory levels by developing systems to initiate purchases.
  • Assists department and warehouse management with periodic Slow Moving Product reports
  • Prepares reports, spreadsheets and other related documentation as directed
  • Actively participates as a member of the purchasing team and the organization by attending meetings, sharing information, etc.


Compensation details: 60000-65000 Yearly Salary
