Job Summary and Qualifications
A CT Technologist performs a variety of imaging procedures to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic environment. You will manage the entire patient procedure, ensuring the highest level of customer service and image quality. This involves preparing patients, starting IVs for contrast administration, and maintaining equipment while upholding the principle of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to minimize radiation dose.
What You'll Do in This Role
- Perform CT and X-ray exams following protocols in a timely manner.
- Start IVs for contrast administration and use the power injector.
- Take patient history and retrieve necessary orders or prior images to provide to the radiologist.
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure all daily exams are completed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development to provide age-specific care.
- Interact professionally with physicians, patients, and family members to answer questions and provide education.
- Support quality improvement (QI) and performance improvement (PI) initiatives.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Graduate of an accredited 24-month Radiological Technology Program (Associate Degree).
- ARRT(R) registered required.
- ARRT(CT) certification strongly preferred or acquired within 6 months.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Experience: 1-3 years of CT experience is strongly preferred, though one year of post-graduate experience is preferred.
