They will work with the estimating team to review current workload and support them in their estimating projects. The chief estimator oversees the overall scheduling, training, leading of projects, and scopes of work.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGSet up project in estimating softwareAssist with writing technical proposalsHold/attend pre-estimate, estimate walk through, and pre-bid meetingsProvide value engineering analysis for every projectCapable of leading 5 or more bids at one time and able to handle bidding two jobs at onceCapable of leading bids on project value and complexity that pushes the limits of our comfort zone (i.e. $100M+bid)Discuss with project manager and superintendent constructability issuesWrite purchase orders and subcontractsAssist with the selection of estimating softwareSolicit subcontractors and vendors for pricingExamine project requirements- sales tax, business license, wages, and local stipulationsDevelop project specific wage scaleDevelop and standardize procedures for estimatingDiscuss potential future projects with owners and engineersStrategize on how to meet MWBE goals or good faith effortsWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management• Estimating experience (10+ years)• Construction experienceLET'S TALK THE PERKS!Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401K Retirement planHealth, dental, vision and life insuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA) / Health Savings Account (HSA)Long-term disabilityHolidays, Vacation and PTOBonus programType: direct hire
