Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: - BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm); traveler must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.

Special Requests: - RTO requests require manager approval.

Unit Details: - Common diagnoses include heart failure, A-fib, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, respiratory failure, COPD, asthma, NSTEMI, sepsis, and diabetes. - Cares for patients with acute and chronic disease, including post-op surgeries and post-cardiac procedures. - Required clinical skills include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and titratable HR drips (not BP). - Additional unit skills include IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, groin management, Foley insertion/care/maintenance, cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation, and discharge education focused on renal and fluid management. - Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova glucose stat strips, portable vital sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, Glucommander, PCA pain management, and suction machines. - CNA support available; unit secretary on unit 7a-11p with house-wide call secretary 11p-7a; charge nurse may have patients; PICC team available; discharge nurses and float resource team support the unit; central telemetry unit.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a 6-week schedule. - No call. - Work one shift for each major holiday group: Thanksgiving Day or the day after, 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1. - Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: - Float to all adult med surg/telemetry units in house.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

Certifications:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification RN-BC
