Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the past 3 years.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. RN’s - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated. RNs should have some tele awareness. Special Requests: RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions. Shift & Scheduling: Travelers will be scheduled. Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling. Weekend Requirements: Typically every other weekend, though additional coverage may be needed based on department demand. Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance, with the manager making adjustments as needed. Holiday Requirements: 2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years. Floating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed. Job Highlights: Department: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & South. # of Beds: 55. Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive. Are RN’s required to titrate drips?: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumps. Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes. Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10-20. Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN’s required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele techs will interpret, RNs should have some tele awareness. Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: RNs: Navy Blue. How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 days. Have mechanical lifts in every other room, Big focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness, This unit typically has multiple discharged and admissions in one day- a nurse is successful on this unit when they can manage the business of the day, have good attendance, are a team player, friendly, compassionate, and cares about patients first. They serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, Burmeese. RN jobs in the following units: Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, ED/ER, Endoscopy, any ICU/critical care, IR, LTAC ICU, Med-Surg/Tele, Tele, PACU, Stepdown/PCU are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding. Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks.
