Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 22 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience.

• 3 months of experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Medical declinations accepted.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Required Skills.Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a MedSurgical setting
  • Proficient in IV start and telemetry monitoring

  • Required Skills Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Pre/Post neurosurgery, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, MS/Tele, IV insulin protocols, Feeding tube care and management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration, PCA, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Teaching Hospital Experience.
  • Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Total joint replacement, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy care/management*.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests:

  • You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
  • Pre-Approved Time Off: 2 Requests
  • RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Availability for weekdays and some weekends, including holidays.
  • Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule

Floating Requirements:

  • Flexibility to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity as needed.
  • Will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed
