Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years. However, must have at least 1 year of current specialty experience for a clinical pass. Required skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias, accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and interpretation of ABGs.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any of the Ohio State University facilities.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Patient population includes breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers; sickle cell crises; and encounters for antineoplastic chemotherapy. Majority of patients require continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration, diagnostic services, chemotherapy, symptom management related to disease treatment or progression, and management of comorbidities. Uses GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.

Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour rotating day/night contract; may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both depending on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, and changes are not guaranteed. Day shift 07:00-19:30; night shift 19:00-07:30. Weekend shifts are variable based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity, including other MedSurg Oncology units.
