Job Summary:
The RN Medical Office - General Surgery provides skilled clinical support and care coordination within a fast-paced surgical specialty practice. This role is integral to ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients throughout the surgical continuum, from preoperative preparation through postoperative follow-up. The ideal candidate is highly organized, clinically strong, and thrives in a collaborative outpatient surgical environment focused on excellence, efficiency, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing support to general surgeons and advanced practice providers in an outpatient medical office setting
- Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient assessments, including education, triage, and care planning
- Coordinate surgical scheduling, pre-admission testing, and follow-up care to ensure seamless patient transitions
- Manage clinical communications, including patient calls, messages, and review of test results in collaboration with the care team
- Assist with minor procedures, wound care, and postoperative management in accordance with clinical protocols
- Perform medication reconciliation, documentation, and patient education related to surgical care plans
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Support clinic workflow optimization, patient throughput, and a positive patient experience
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, coordinated surgical care
- Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
Minimum Experience: 6 months of nursing experience.- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
