Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the safety of the assigned team day of as well as the aircraft.
  • Lead required crew briefings with team members (pre-arrival and post-arrival safety checklists) and communicate process changes and updates, as necessary.
  • Controlling your Flight: Ensure all servicing is completed (lavatories, waters, etc.), baggage and cargo counts are accurate, proper use of scanners and all compartments have been checked thoroughly.
  • Ensure all flight paperwork is completed correctly and legibly and returned to Operations.
  • Ensure bypass pins, headsets, wands, scanners, radios, etc. are signed out and returned in working order.
  • Allocation of your agents and tasks associated to the operation.
  • Coordinate flight assignments with the Dispatch Coordinators, Supervisors, and Duty Managers.
  • Communicating in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Updating task status using Unifi’s allocation software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring any incidents are immediately communicated to Leadership and the scene remains frozen.
  • Communicating and being accountable for any delays incurred on assigned flights, focusing on proactive solutions.
  • Complete Pre-Operational Inspections for all equipment used during the shift.
  • Adhering and promoting adherence to uniform standards including PPE.
  • Understanding how breaks are allocated and finding the balance to support both your people and the operation.
  • Ensure operational gates are set up/taken down for all aircraft servicing.
  • Ensuring that you are in position and prepared to support the day of operation at the start of your shift.
  • Provide and fulfill such other duties and responsibilities as required, such as ramp, tow, bagroom duties, lavatories, waters, etc.
  • Ensure all equipment is correctly signed out, fueled, and returned to the appropriate areas at the end of shift.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must hold a current YYC D/A AVOP.
  • Must be able to obtain a Radio Operator Certificate.
  • Must hold a fully cleared Restricted Area Pass ( Red Pass ).
  • Actively participate in new agent development and provide guidance.
  • Actively participate in your own development plans.
  • Recognize and action challenges that may arise promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work shift work, including weekends, AM/PM.
  • Must be able to communicate by radio, telephone, etc.
