Maintenance Electrician

United Rotary Brush is an Olathe, Kansas based manufacturer of specialty industrial brushes for the airport, road construction, street sweeping and plow industries. Our Olathe, KS, manufacturing facility (I-35 & Old 56 Hwy) is looking for a Maintenance Electrician to work on the 1st shift. JOB SUMMARY

This position will perform a wide variety of maintenance duties to ensure that all electrical systems, wiring and equipment remain functional. Will rely on the ability to safely multi-task as well as work in a fast-paced environment to keep equipment operational while handling tasks in an efficient manner and determining which ones to prioritize. Organizational skills to ensure supplies are sufficient and handle routine maintenance tasks quickly to help reduce downtime.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as identify any hazards or issues by performing PM work daily.
  • Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance repair plan to solve the problem.
  • Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment and other components.
  • Test systems with devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to ensure the systemin remains safe.
  • Review blueprints for the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs.
  • Provide suggestions on the life span of equipment and other electrical components.
  • Keep a record of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered.
  • Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to help reduce costs.
  • Interpret and apply technical codes.
  • Perform basic to advanced troubleshooting of the equipment’s mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and controls issues.
  • Will adhere, follow, and recommend safety processes and procedures related to working on equipment.
  • Position may require mechanical work at times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Required

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3-5 consecutive years of full-time electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Possess a two-year technical degree in a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of plastics processing equipment including extruders, pullers, cutters, chillers.
  • Electrical knowledge including high voltage, fuses, VFD, relays and switches and controls.
  • Must have good knowledge of hydraulic presses and systems.
  • Able to read mechanical drawings and have knowledge of CAD.

*Note: A $500.00 retention bonus will be paid to those eligible participants who are hired while the program is in effect and attain 3 months of continuous employment with United Rotary Brush in their current qualified position. Eligible participants who are hired while the program is in effect and attain 6 months of continuous employment in their current qualified position will receive another $500.00 bonus. The bonuses are subject to all applicable taxes. Details of this program will be discussed at time of hire.
