Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse - Cardiology Methodist Plaza (EP Department)

Des Moines, Iowa

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

*Travel to satellite clinic (Penn Avenue) once weekly

**$5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus for external candidates.

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our EP Cardiology Team!

You will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with heart-related conditions. You will work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to do the following:

Patient Rooming: Greet patients, escort them to examination rooms, and prepare them for their visit. Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight. Obtain and document patient medical histories, current medications, allergies, and any other pertinent information.
Chart Preparation: Prepare charts for upcoming patient visits.
Prescription Refills: Tee up and/or send medication refills per protocols.
Apply Holter Monitors: Apply 24 or 48 hour holter monitors per provider order.
Manage Work Qeues: Incoming and outgoing phone calls, orders, etc.
Qualifications:

Education:

·Graduate of an accredited program/apprenticeship program for Medical Assistants OR Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses.

Experience:

·Minimum of one year of experience in cardiology preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

·Current CMA certification for Certified Medical Assistants OR Current Iowa Licensure to practice as an LPN.

·BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
