Job SummaryThe Advanced Practice Supervisor ensures quality of care and serves as a role model, expert clinician, and mentor. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources and also will play a critical role in the patient experience including optimizing clinic flow, providing outreach to patients and working collaboratively with the team to create a patient centered environment. S/he is responsible for daily clinical operations and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff. The Advanced Practice Supervisor projects a professional and courteous demeanor, helps establish and maintain the highest service standards for the practice and complies with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards. Will provide clinical expertise for Cardiology patients and the clinics. Will exercise leadership for the interdisciplinary care team and support services to deliver high quality, safe, effective and efficient family centered care. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $138,400 - $335,800 (Annual Rate).To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: Department DescriptionCardiology Ambulatory Services are complex, multidisciplinary specialty clinics that treat patients from new patient referral and may include pre/post procedural care and ongoing medical management. The patient populations served include general cardiology and cardiology sub-specialties to provide high quality comprehensive care. High quality comprehensive care can include office visits/ancillary testing and coordination of complex care coordination.Required QualificationsMinimum of two (2) years of related healthcare management, supervisory or leadership experience and 5 years of recent Ambulatory Cardiology APP clinical experience within in a highly matrixed healthcare organization.Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and to manage the complex workflow and competing priorities involved with providing quality care as an Advanced Practitioner.Strong leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration and consistent achievement of objectives.Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards, systems, external regulations and internal policies.Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively supervise clinicians, manage complex workflow and multiple priorities.Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem solving with all levels of management and staff.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.Demonstrated ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document APP performance.Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and data management systems used in clinics / clinical departments.Preferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of human resources management practices and policies.License/CertificationMaster's Degree in a health care related field from an accredited programCurrent California licensure in good standing by specialty:•           RN/NP•           Physician Assistant•           RN/CRNA•           RN/CNMNational board certification in area of practice upon hireNational Provider Indentification (NPI)Furnishing license as required by specialtyAmerican Heart Association CPRAbout UCSFAt UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research is redefining what’s possible for the patients we serve – a promise we share with the professionals who make up our team.
