In this role, the Senior QRA will work primarily on building an in house strategic asset allocation model to challenge investment asset allocation decisions. Key responsibilities of the role will include:1. Development of a Monte Carlo strategic asset allocation model in python,2. Incorporation of key portfolio objectives and constraints to eliminate portfolios that do not meet specified investment policy statement requirements,3. Write model documentation, perform necessary testing, and meet necessary requirements for internal validation of model by Enterprise Model Risk Management,4. Perform model ongoing monitoring, updates, and communicate results to key internal partners and stakeholders.This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.The OpportunityWhat you'll do:Uses advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.Applies advanced knowledge and industry standard methodologies to quantify risk and aggregate exposures.Engages in model validation and produces model validation reports.Applies innovative and scientific/quantitative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make recommendations to answer business objectives and inspire change.Translates recommendations into communication materials to effectively present to colleagues for peer review and management.Applies advanced knowledge to produce advanced analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.Provides mentorship to other team members in the peer review process.What you have:Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative subject area. and 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.6 years related quantitative analysis experience in a subject area relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative field.OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative subject area and 4 years work experience in a quantitative field relevant to risk management.OR PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative subject area and up to 2 years work experience in a quantitative team relevant to risk management.What sets you apart:Experience building portfolio optimization / strategic asset allocation modelsProgress towards CFA or FRM designationsProficiency in python (NumPy, pandas), SQL, Excel, and data visualizationBasics of object-oriented programming and ability to write scalable, maintainable codeUS military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and should not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.What we offer:Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
