USmax is seeking a University Partnership S pecialist to support the USAID Science for Development Fellows (SDF) program. The SDF program provides USAID access to continuously advancing and diverse scientific and technical expertise in the form of Institutional Support Contractor staff. The University Partnership S pecialist will be responsible for fostering and maintaining strong relationships with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), particularly in the context of the designing and implementing a Fellowships program. The University Partnership S pecialist will work to provide direct links to the U.S. higher education community and leverage their expertise for more effective application of science and technology in international development and foreign affairs activities. Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop and implement a comprehensive Higher Education Institution (HEI) engagement strategy that aligns with the objectives of the Science for Development Fellowships program. * Establish and maintain relationships with a diverse array of HEIs, including Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), to facilitate program outreach and recruitment. * Act as the primary point of contact between the program and HEIs, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. * Support the Higher Education Outreach and Recruitment Manager in implementing the Recruitment and HEI Outreach Strategy. * Work closely with HEIs to understand the motivations for PhD-level scientists to join fellowship programs and evaluate potential outreach messaging. * Prepare regular reports on HEI engagement activities, challenges, and opportunities for program improvement. * Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Executive Director and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), to ensure the program's success. Required Qualifications: * Strong understanding of the higher education landscape, particularly in the context of science and development. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Experience working on USAID projects or other international development programs preferred. Required Experience * Three years' experience in higher education outreach, partnership development, or a related role. Required Education * Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field. Security Clearance Requirements: * None Work Location / Schedule * Telework eligible, with a minimum of 2 days per week on-site in Fairfax, VA (subject to change). Travel Requirements * This position requires limited to no international and limited domestic travel.
