Responsibilities

  • The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant shall be responsible for providing, under the direction of licensed Physical Therapist, a full range of age appropriate therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.
  • Provides age appropriate treatment according to established goals on the treatment plan and assists the supervising Physical Therapist in reassessing patient's functional status when goals are met or there is a change in patient's condition.
  • Instructs/educates patients/families in appropriate activities, home programs and referral to community resources utilizing both verbal and written programs.
  • Documents progress in the medical record and maintains patient records as required.
  • Communicates with patients, families and all health care professionals required to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care.
  • Maintains skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care.
  • Participates in internal and external activities designed to promote awareness of rehabilitation and other health related subjects.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of a PTO approved Associates degree program
  • Current professional license active and valid in the State of Texas.
  • 3-5 years experience preferred in acute or outpatient setting
