Certification Details
- Play an integral role in a patient's diagnosis at UW Health.

- Seeking a Histology Technician - Surgical Pathology to prepare tissue samples for examination under the microscope.
Job Details
- Associate degree in laboratory or medical laboratory technology (education verification required).
- One year of previous laboratory experience required.
- Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
Job Requirements
- Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience.
- The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs.
- During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete the contract.
Schedule Information
- Interact daily with pathologists, residents, and both intradepartmental and interdepartmental staff.
- Perform basic instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents), supply inventory and quality control to review and evaluate test or instrument performance.
- Perform some advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.
Unit Specific Information
- Traveler must have a permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
- Parking permit required through UW Transportation Services.
- UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
