*Job Summary:*

The Director is responsible for the oversight and coordination of medical services, working with management to ensure quality of services and adherence to relevant regulatory and clinical standards. The Director participates in strategic planning and implementation and represents the organization in external groups and meetings. Works in collaboration with senior management, the Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) team and administrative staff in developing and maintaining high clinical standards and services. Participates with the senior leadership in strategic planning and implementation of organizational mission and goals. Performs liaison with professional organizations, resources, and other entities. Advises the Chief of Outpatient (COO) regarding the needs for, and utilization of, psychiatric consultation throughout the organization and advisees in establishment and maintenance of quality psychiatric medical care. Works under the policy guidelines and procedural standards established for the agency.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* Oversight of the agency’s operational effectiveness of psychiatric and medical services.
* Maintain knowledge of clinical quality and trends and provide consultation for staff on current and new programming.
* In collaboration with other staff, ensures that quality improvement principles and practices are incorporated in all aspects of organizational functioning.
* Serve as advisor to the agency’s CQI Committee and contribute to organization and continuing committee functioning, as assigned by the COO.
* Assist the CQI Committee in the analysis of clinical issues and development of proposed agency wide clinical policy.
* Provide clinical consultation regarding client, staff and/or program issues to agency programs upon request of Directors and Managers.
* Manage contracts with primary care partners.

*Financial Responsibilities*
* Consult with accounting and the Chief Financial Officer to oversee budget development for all programs supervised, assuring they are contractually responsive and otherwise accountable.
* Uses cost benefit analysis as a tool for decision making.
* Provides timely and accurate KPI and data reports to the CEO & COO.

*Human Resources Responsibilities*
* Promote the recruitment, retention, development, and continuing education of all staff members and promote the agency’s mission.
* Work in compliance with profession and agency Codes of Ethics.
* Effectively manages employee conflicts and builds and maintains a sense of teamwork among staff members.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

*Education*:
* DO or MD with a completed a residency in psychiatry.
* Valid medical license in the State of WA
* Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry.
* -Or-
* Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred.
* ARNP with an ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification required.
* Valid license as Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of WA required.

*Experience: *
* Five years of senior level leadership in Outpatient Mental Health, preference given for prior experience as a Medical Director.
* Demonstrates a clear understanding of the principles of recovery.
* Pass required background checks.
