Electronics Technician/Installer WaveLink Overview: WaveLink, Inc. WLI currently has a position available for: Job Description: WaveLink is seeking an Electronics Technician for service and installation projects. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of data and structured cabling methods, integration of a variety of informations sytsems (Audio/Visual, Telemetry, network, RF), fabrication of electronic assemblies, to include site installation activities as needed. Looking for a motivated self-starter who can work independently to find innovate solutions to customers complex problems. Must be detail oriented, able to read system specifications, produce written documentation and have a knack for cable management. Primary work site will be at Eglin AFB, FL with the potential for some travel to other customer sites as required. Required Education and Experience: AA Technician, equivalent technical degree, or certificate of completion from an accredited course is required Minimum of 5 years of related experience Required Skills: Integrate, fabricate, install server racks, switching, distribution, routing, computers, and AV equipment used in Operations Centers, Flight Test Control Rooms, and Data Centers
Perform fabrication of custom assemblies and integration with information systems into equipment racks IAW design specifications
Perform layout, installation, termination, labeling, testing and certification of all associated cabling, to include but not limited to CAT 5e, and CAT 6 twisted pair cable; single- or multi-strand multi-mode or single-mode fiber optic cable; and other associated video and data cables
Support of integration test planning, execution, and reporting as well-disciplined Configuration Management practices to ensure as-built systems match design documentation
Experience and/or training should include copper and fiber optic termination, patch panel installation, and troubleshooting with OTDR, power meter, and LAN testers Clearance Level: Active Secret (minimum) Primary Location: Eglin AFB, FL WLI provides a comprehensive benefit package, with competitive salaries in a proactive, employee-oriented work environment.
