Exercise Planner (Theater Exercise Coordination / Joint Exercise Planning)
Position Location: Camp Smith, HI  
POSITION SUMMARY
The Exercise Planner will provide technical support to MARFORPAC for all official exercise activities, in order to support recommendations for the design, planning, preparations, execution and evaluation of joint, combined, and Service level exercises with the purpose to rehearse plan-based tasks and train operational commanders and staffs.  The Exercise Planner may serve in duties within exercise execution to include Senior Marine Controller, Request for Information (RFI) Manager, and Assistant Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) Manager.  The Exercise Planner will perform the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide written recommendations and analysis for specific issues (WRASI). • Develop the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL). • Develop training plans and materials. • Provide Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) or replacement program submissions. • Provide System of Systems (SOS) input for specific issues and provide maintenance for exercise information tool. • Provide in-progress reviews, briefs, meeting minutes, and exercise event evaluations. • Provide updates to All-Domain Information Planning Team (ADIPT). • Provide updates to Command and Control Information Environment (C2IE) and to SOCIUM (successor system to OHASIS). • Attend meetings when required and participate by answering questions and providing input to topics. • Arrange and facilitate After-Action Review (AAR) and lessons learned meetings. Attend LOO and LOE working group meetings as the G-35 representative. • Produce trip reports.
EDUCATION • High school diploma required. EXPERIENCE • Minimum of three years demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at MAGTF or Joint/combined command level required. • Possess a thorough knowledge of USMARFOR operations in relation to OPLANs/CONPLANS and exercise scenarios in the Pacific.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.). • Advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication.
WORKING CONDITIONS • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus. SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS • Travel may be required. • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE • A TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.
