Weyerhaeuser Company Limited – Hudson Bay Timberlands is seeking a Log Haul Specialist to join our Hudson Bay operations team. This is a critical role responsible for optimizing log transportation performance, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery to our mills and customers, and building strong partnerships with our external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Hudson Bay Operations Team Leader, this role is primarily office-based with regular field engagement and occasional travel. Hybrid flexibility (1–2 remote days per week) may be available once fully established in the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Championing safety values and fostering a strong safety culture.

  • Ensuring the compliant delivery of approximately 800,000 m3 of logs annually to Weyerhaeuser mill and other regional customers.

  • Identifying, onboarding, and securing adequate trucking capacity to efficiently execute harvest and meet customer demands.

  • Coordinate and oversee log truck fleet management activities including adherence to contract and transportation partnership agreement obligations.

  • Monitoring of trucking contractor performance (including safety & production) with prompt attention given to noncompliance and performance issues

  • Build and maintain strong external relationships with contractors, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders

  • Utilization of logistic tools for increased efficiency of trucking systems (increased safety too)

  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, forestry operations, industrial safety, manufacturing or a related field

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and adapt to changing business needs

  • Knowledge of computer-based truck tracking systems (GPS), preferred.

  • Solid planning, organization, and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering results

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Willingness to travel as required during the week, conducting safety and production audits within the forest management area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with truck tracking systems (e.g., GPS, logistics tools)

  • Familiarity with forestry, harvesting, or log haul operations

  • Eligibility to the Association of Saskatchewan Forestry Professionals, or other professional designation, is considered an asset and would support opportunities for growth within the role

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $75,045 - $106,489 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
