General Purpose and Scope of Position: The primary role of the plant operator is to assist in producing aquaculture feed products and in quality control, maintenance, and facility cleanliness in daily activities. The roles of the Plant Operator vary based on experience and expertise. This role may include operating equipment such as an extruder, grinder, mixer, pellet machine, or working in the warehouse. These roles also include packaging, filling, assisting in the formulation, or housekeeping. Candidates are well-driven self-starters who can work with a close-knit team to meet customers' demands efficiently.Key Skills and Abilities Include: Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience requiredWillingness to operate material handling equipment, including forklift and other equipment, as requiredMust be able to lift up to 50 lbsManual dexterity requires being on your feet for long periods and working in a production environment.Ability to follow written and verbal directions and complete the necessary documentation. Report any issues before processingDocumentation as required in all aspects of job dutiesLearn and train all the roles needed at the plant (mixing, bagging, forklift, container loading, etc.)Operate processing equipment as outlined in SOP'sMaintain facility cleanliness throughout all operationsPerform Quality Control while handling productsAccurately document tasks performed (processing, maintenance, cleaning, etc.)Responsible for reporting safety/food safety problems to management, up to and including stopping a production lineMaintain all current training.Comply with all Food Safety Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, FDA and OSHA guidelines, and Federal and State workplace laws.Able to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlookPerform other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently.Compensation and Benefits: In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $15.96 - $21.28/hr. Wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
