Engineer, Project Engineering

Overview: William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company is in search for a Project Engineer within the Springfield, IL & surrounding areas to support bridge projects. The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Estimator with the day to day administrative functions associated with Project Management and Estimating to ensure that each estimate is prepared accurately and each project is completed on time and within the estimated budget.   With more than a century of exceptional work on our resume, William Charles Construction remains guided by the pursuit of excellence. With our broad background in heavy civil construction, environmental management and mining and materials production, we have the expertise to help our customers complete their most complex projects.    MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; Attend the project turnover meeting (estimating to operations). Assist in generating/maintaining project schedules, both cash flow and work load. Assist in setting up/managing submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.  Ensure the work, including the work of the subcontractors, is being done in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.  Ensure all work is completed according to specifications for the project.  Assist in completing all project plans.  Assist in maintaining all project related reports.  Assist in preparing project closing documents.  Review construction documents and compete take offs and assist in obtaining procing for materials and subcontractors, including DBE subcontractors.  Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
