Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Database Programmer / Administrator to join a CTH job opportunity supporting the federal government and Walter Reed hospital in Silver Spring, MD. The Database Programmer / Administrator will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the SQL database that feeds data for testing on samples coming into the hospital. MUST HAVE ACTIVE TS/SCI CLEARANCE Responsibilities for the Database Programmer/Administrator: • Researches, Administers, manages, designs, documents, and evaluates a variety of database management systems including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS). • Maintains and administers database server and middleware tools used to develop Web database systems and framework. • Audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import. • Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites. • Assumes the technical lead for SQL Server and online database projects. • Assists software engineers in the development of web-based interfaces to database systems. • Creates and maintains high-level reporting systems using products such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, SQL Server Report Builder, Tableau, and Power BI. • Researches and implements new database and online technology. • Performs complex technical, analytical and professional services involving program/member services, evaluation, database driven Web sites, office operations support, and problem resolution. • Maintains and administers Web server and middleware tools used to develop Web database systems and framework.
Qualifications for the Database Programmer/Administrator: • M.S. Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems • Must have an active Top Secret Clearance • Must possess a Security Plus certification
Desired Skills for the Database Programmer/Administrator: • Experience designing, installing, implementing and administering SQL Server databases and servers in the DoD environment within the last 8 years • Experience implementing MS SSRS systems and developing and deploying reports within the last 5 years • Minimum of 2 years of experience administering relational databases of 500+ GB in size • Experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2; experience with other commercial reporting and analytic tools like Tableau, Power BI, Crystal reports, etc.; web application development experience • Possess current/active MS SQL database related industry certification • Experience with Replication and synchronization of multiple databases • Experience with SharePoint, reporting, and bioinformatics preferred Compensation for the Database Programmer/Administrator: • Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 **depending on experiences & non-negotiable above this range** • Full Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, etc.
