Zurich North America is hiring an Underwriting Account Service Manager II for our Construction Casualty team in Los Angeles. We are also open to hiring talent for our offices in San Francisco, Rancho Cordova or Denver. This is a hybrid role that will require three-days in the office per week.

 

As a member of Zurich’s Operations management team, you will have the opportunity to lead, motivate and develop the Energy Underwriting Account Servicing team to develop and deliver customer-specific, value added services for existing and new large accounts.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Manages all operational activities associated with high volume, mid-size to large accounts.
  • Managing a team of Underwriting Associates, end to end and as the point of contact for customers and underwriting leadership
  • Collaborating with underwriters to provide solution options to international programs, prospects and renewal
  • Providing leadership and gather/articulate US customer needs related to external International applications
  • Providing oversight and leading key check point processes for international teams
  • Coordinating relevant agenda, communications, and discussion points for regional meetings and trainings

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
    AND
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
  • Experience working in a production and metrics performance environment
  • Experience preparing and managing operational budgets
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • People management experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced knowledge of Construction Casualty line of business
  • Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory guidelines
  • People management or supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage and build rapport with team
  • Advanced skills in problem solving, relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win-win negotiation
  • Excellent organizational, written, oral communication and presentation skills

 

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $96,300.00 - $157,700.00.
