JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The BCBA Assessor must reside within or in driving distance to Maryland, as in-person visits are required for initial assessments. This is a part-time hourly position (paid for all billable hours worked). BCBA Assessors report directly to the Clinical Director and/or VP of Clinical Operations, where applicable. BCBA Assessors are responsible for completing initial assessments (10 or less per month) as needed and assigned by GOJ leadership. The BCBA Assessor serves as the primary point of contact for families during the initial assessment process. BCBA Assessors are responsible for upholding A Gem of Joy ABA Quality Standards, as well as implementing best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis, for all initial assessments completed. Initial assessments may be completed at any time during GOJ operating hours, Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.
Qualifications
- Location
- Must reside in or within driving distance to Maryland.
- Education
- Master’s degree or higher in education, psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or similar field.
- Certification
- Current, active certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA® or BCBA-D®)
- Current, active license to practice ABA in the state of Maryland (Maryland LBA).
- Work Experience
- A minimum of 3 years working with individuals with ASD or intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience completing behavior analytic assessments for both skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
- Experience utilizing assessment results to create individualized treatment plans to effectively reduce challenging behavior and/or teach new skills.
- Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of CPT® codes relevant to the provision of applied behavior analysis services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience implementing various assessment tools for evaluating challenging behavior and current adaptive functioning levels.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Preferred: Proficiency using (or prior exposure to) Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
Success Measures
- Success as a BCBA Assessor with A Gem of Joy ABA is defined as meeting performance expectations for quality, productivity, and timeliness. In addition to annual performance reviews, BCBA Assessors will be evaluated against these measures on a monthly basis, receiving a scorecard with up to 4 total points available to be earned each month. Monthly Scorecard Criteria will be provided during initial training.
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact during the assessment process between learners/families on your caseload and A Gem of Joy ABA, excluding situations that require escalation to the CD.
- Complete initial assessments of learner skills and challenging behaviors.
- Complete initial assessments of parent/caregiver skills and proficiency implementing ABA strategies with their child.
- Use assessment results and family priorities to create individualized, medically necessary goals for each learner that you are responsible for assessing.
- Create individualized ABA treatment plans based on funding source and GOJ report requirements.
- Timely completion of all necessary documentation, including assessments reports, timesheets, and session notes.
Compensation
- BCBA Assessors are compensated for all billable hours worked at a rate of $90-$95 per hour, based on experience.
