Hiring in tech companies shrinks
There have been mixed reactions about the tech industry when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some experts predicted that techies would get lucky and witness a boom in business, while others have painted a grim picture of what the future holds for tech jobs. Let's look at the numbers, despite the surge in demand for some online services and technologies, there has been a massive drop in job listings, around 20 percent since March. The worst affected have been small scale private e-commerce businesses. On the other hand, software firms seem to have maintained their pace of hiring.
