The riskiest jobs amidst a pandemic
A recent study by Marissa Baker, an assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Public Health examined the jobs in the US that posed the most danger to the risk of infectious diseases. According to the study, 10 per cent of workers in the US are exposed to infection once a week, and nearly 18 per cent face exposure once a month. This study does not include gig workers such as food delivery people and rideshare drivers so they are a very conservative figure. According to the study, community and social services workers such as counsellors, educators and social workers are high risks. Personal care and service providers, healthcare practitioners and technical professionals alongside healthcare support services are high-risk jobs as well.
