Amtrak warns of 2,400 additional job losses.

“We will be unable to avoid more drastic impacts that could have long-lasting effects on our Northeast Corridor infrastructure and the national rail system.”, says Amtrak chief executive Bill Flynn. US transit and airlines have seen a sharp decline in demand, and without a new bailout from the government, it is unlikely to survive the challenges, and Amtrak would have to let go of another 2400 employees.
